Playground/park progress!

Phase 1 is complete. Phase 2 will add a swing set, more kids’ play activities and park amenities.

In October 2018 we held a community work bee to clear the area for our playground/park. Many people from the community came out to help.

In May 2019 we purchased a play structure. Work began on a retaining wall in the cleared out area. Holes were dug for fence posts and for the six posts we need to cement in for the play structure. The retaining wall is in and the play structure is now complete. We have had many happy families enjoying this first part of our project.

This project is funded strictly by donations and all the work is being completed by community volunteers.

The annual general meeting of the Pelican Pointe Recreation Committee, Inc. will be held on October 1, 2019 at 7:00 p.m. The meeting will be held at 207 Coldwell Road, Regina, SK.

Playground Update

Thank you Aquarius Water and Septic for your donation.

We have a couple of super heroes at Pelican Pointe. They went out playground scouting and found this cute, not too large, play structure. This would fit well in the spot the community cleared out last fall.

The Recreation Committee is hoping to get a play structure (maybe the one above) in place this summer (2019). There is still a need for funds for the project. Here is a preview of the brochure campaign we are planning this summer. We have lot of these brochures available to distribute. Please consider helping us get a playground for the children by picking up some brochures from a committee member and passing them out. All and any assistance is very much appreciated.

Our committee will try to update this web-page more often over the summer. We will also be posting updates on the Pelican Pointe Facebook page. Stay tuned…….

One year later…..

Clearing the area on the beach for our playground.

An update on activities;

The recreation committee has been busy over the past year.  To date:

We have aquired a Canada Revenue Charities number and are able to issue tax receipts for donations.

We have held fundraisers in the community and applied for grants.

We are working with the resort Council and a commercial playground company on a plan for the play structure.

We held a community work day to clear brush and weeds from the area where we would like to install our play structure and some park amenities.

The plan is to have our play structure in place by the fall of 2019.

Pelican Pointe Playground Project

The Resort Village of Pelican Pointe is working towards having a new playground for our community.  We would like to have a safe and practical playground so that families may enjoy their time at the beach.

The Pelican Pointe Recreation Committee, Inc. (PPRC) was formed in the summer of 2017, with the goal of raising funds for the playground project.

We are hoping to raise  $ 20,000.00+ to ensure we have a current, safe and family friendly recreation area on the beach.

We do not have any play facilities on the main beach and there are a couple of old picnic tables and an old bench for our families to use.  The vision our committee has is to have a parklike setting on the beach.  We need playground equipment and other amenities.

The PPRC is asking for your assistance in helping make our dream of a playground and enhanced beach area a reality.  We are hoping to have many people and organizations/businesses support the project with monetary donations.  It is a large undertaking and any support we receive will be much appreciated.

A receipt for income tax purposes can be issued for donations, upon request.  Please include your full name and address if you would like a tax receipt.

The following is how our committee would like to recognize the support we receive for this project.

Donations – levels of acknowledgement for supporters.

  • Bronze – Up to $499 – acknowledgement in Pelican Pointe newsletter, two free meals at our annual Pelican Pointe picnic
  • Silver – $ 500 to $ 999 – mention at our annual picnic, mention in newsletter, mention on social media and invite with 2 free meals at picnic
  • Gold – $1,000 – $4,999 – all above plus small plaque at site of playground
  • Platinum – $5,000+ – all of the above, instead of small plaque a large sign (metal or wooden) at site.
  • Naming rights – please contact Rae Pelletier at 306-729-4442.

Donation cheques can be made out to Pelican Pointe Rec. Comm. and mailed to:

PPRC, Box 330, Silton, SK. S0G 4L0

or sent via e-transfer to

The PPRC will be updating this site on a fairly regular basis.  We hope you are able to assist with this undertaking and we will keep you posted.

It is a good start…..

The Pelican Pointe Recreation Committee, Inc. has been busy getting going on this project.

To date we have become a non-profit corporation, set up a special fundraising account and held a raffle at our annual community picnic.

The total raised to date is $ 2,890.00.  Thank you to the first couple of donors and those who purchased raffle tickets!!
